Ottawa Senators Goal Predictions
NHL.com recently came out with their 2024-25 fantasy projections. Well, now it’s time for Ottawa Hockey Now to do the same. The focus here will be how many goals each Senators player will score.
Let’s start with the team total goal amount. Over the last two seasons, the Senators have scored 509 goals, good for 18th most in the NHL. They scored 250 last season, and 259 the year before. The Senators have not done anything to make me believe that they will increase or decrease off of those totals for next season. They have a less offensive minded group of defensemen with Chychrun and Brannstrom gone, but they should be a more well-rounded team with the additions that they’ve made. So, let’s project them to score around 260 goals. Of course, injuries are inevitable, making Senators player goal totals hard to predict. But let’s do our best anyway!

Forward Goals
Tkachuk: 38
Batherson: 30
Stutzle: 29
Norris: 23
Pinto: 21
Giroux: 20
Amadio 16
Greig: 15
Perron: 15
Cousins: 7
Gregor: 3
MacEwan: 2
Quick Thoughts
This would be 219 total goals. The forwards scored 203 last season. Tkachuk approached 40 goals last season; there’s no reason for him to not do the same this season. Stutzle might have a hard time scoring as many goals as he did two years ago (39), but he needs to end up with more than the 18 he scored last season. If six guys can score 20, and three more end up with 15+, the Senators will be in a great spot.
Defense Goals
Sanderson: 12
Chabot: 9
Zub: 5
Jensen: 3
Kleven: 3
Bernard-Docker: 2
Hamonic: 2
Quick Thoughts
This puts the defense at 36 goals. They scored 47 last season. With Jensen in and Chychrun out, their goal total should fall off a bit. It will be up to Sanderson and Chabot to carry the load this season. If they can both approach 10+ goals, that would help the Senators a lot in their push for the playoffs.
Final Thoughts
Add it all up, and this puts the Senators at 256 goals. Throw in a few more from the other players that will inevitably end up in the Senators lineup this season, and the team will push their way to 260 goals. Of course, injuries will hit the team in some way. Hopefully, there’s nothing major that comes their way on that front. 260 goals, plus Ullmark helping improve the goals against should put the Senators in a good spot.
